Child and Maternity Hospital Sans Facility: An Ordeal Of Helpless Mother

Much hyped child and maternity hospital of Anantnag district lacks basic facilities amidst winters. With unavailability of doctors, paramedics and other heating facilities during night hours, both patients and attendants suffer a lot.

A helpless family shared their dreaded experience of with KC. While narrating her ordeal a helpless mother narrated.

She said, “Few days ago, my son was fell sick suddenly at night and we immediately rushed him to the child and maternity hospital of Anantnag. Around 1 pm midnight, when we reached there, we were surprised to see only one doctor available for the entire hospital after intense search. My son was shivering with high fever, upon inspecting the doctor prescribed some medicines and told us to wait outside till he recovers little.”

Ronak WaseemShe further added, “To our utter surprise, there were no heating facilities installed in the hospital for patients. We were made to sit outside in the corridor amid bone chilling cold. Our bodies were nearly to get frozen. Wards were with open windows without curtains in an unhygienic state. The washrooms too were in dilapidated condition with rats all over and dogs roaming around the main entrance of verandah.”

“We felt utterly disappointed with the experience we faced”, a disappointed mother further revealed.

The people of the area share same experience after our inquiring. They request Administration to please look into the matter and solve the issue of basic facilities in the hospitals.
