Srinagar: Srinagar Police on Thursday evening busts 4-member honey trap gang working in the interiors of the city. All the members of the gang were arrested.
In a statement, Srinagar Police said, “Four members of honey trap gang arrested which includes 1. Firdous Ahmad Mir, Rainawari (fake SP); 2. Mohd Tariq Mir of Lal Bazar (Fake reporter); 3. Ashiya of Bemina (pseudo honey trap girl); 4. Masrat Mir of Habba Kadal (fake crime branch officer).
“They used to lure gullible people and extort money”, said police.
“The girl used to set up meeting with the gullible person. The other members of gang would impersonate as professionals like, reporters/police and then blackmail the victim”, reads the statement.
“FIR no. 68/2023 U/s 392, 472, 419 IPC at sadar Police Station were lodged”, reads the tweet.
