Sopore: Daily commuters, particularly employees and students in the main town Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are facing tough time due to frequent traffic jams during peak hours at morning and evening.
The Sopore bypass which is connecting to Kupwara has turned into traffic mess. The Mandi Junction and Ahad Baba junction at Nowpora kalan is witnessing massive traffic jams and local authorities are unmoved and in deep slumber.
Talking to KC, a student said, “The bypass leads to us different colleges and institutions of the district. We get stuck badly on regular basis now and our studies has taken a bad hit.”
A shopkeeper told KC that traffic jams has become synonymous with Sopore. Absence of traffic police personnel made traffic on the bypass haphazard and there is no sigh of relief in sight.
