Fraud, Fake Mutations, Unauthorized Registrations By Revenue Officials Of Tehsil Hazratbal

The revenue records accessed by KASHMIR CENTRAL reflect glaring instances of fraud, fake mutations and unauthorized registrations by revenue officials of Tehsil Hazratbal in the favor of high-profile businessmen, bureaucrats and politicians. According to locals, the revenue authorities are under pressure from anti-graft agencies. Locals say that revenue officials “enact dramas regularly” about removing encroachments. According to locals, such activities are either eyewash, or they lead to no compliance at ground level.

Kashmir Central has accessed some photographs wherein DC Srinagar Mr Aijaz Assad is seen supervising the encroachment drive at Saidpora. When the team of KASHMIR CENTRAL visited the spot, the boundary walls raised by the encroachers were seen intact. Not a single tin sheet had been removed from the encroached stretch of land.

Sources say that a senior police officer has occupied more than 90 kanals of land at Saidpora. The area continues to be in his possession, but revenue authorities claim that his encroachment has been removed.

In Kral Sangri, just above the world-famous Tulip Garden, encroachment of state land continues unabated. In some earlier editions, KASHMIR CENTRAL has extensively written about the land scam at Kral Sangri. Here too, senior police officers and influential businessmen have grabbed state land. In Harwan, a senior police officer has allegedly encroached upon state land earmarked by the Administration for sports activities.
