Lehar Foundation expresses deep sorrow over the killing of municipal councillor Rakesh Pandita, who was also the chairman of Tral Municipal Committee. The terrorist act is a stark reminder of the denial of peace and security in Kashmir. Once again, it reveals Pakistan’s evil designs to derail democratic processes in Kashmir. The people of Kashmir have realized that every political assassination is an attempt to harm democracy in Kashmir. By targeting a municipal councilor from the minority community, terrorists have tried to tarnish Kashmir’s social fabric of inclusivity and plurality.
All the terror apologists worldwide who further Pakistan’s evil designs must hang their heads in shame. Sitting in peaceful and prosperous regions, they deny peace and prosperity to common Kashmiris. Every killing by the terrorists is a threat to every Kashmiri.
